• I plan for, write, and edit anything that you’d consider ‘promotional’ for your education provider or business. Copywriting is essentially promotional writing - so I write and edit website content, case studies, brochures, prospectuses, alumni magazines, annual reports. The list goes on.

Sometimes clients have a very specific piece of marketing they want written or edited. Sometimes they just know they need to promote their offering and aren’t sure where to start. Both are fine and we can discuss your needs either over email or video call.

  • I work with education providers such as universities, colleges, further education, schools, and executive education. I also work with businesses who are marketing to other businesses (B2B). Take a look at my Services page to get an idea of what I specialise in - Education marketing materials, education websites, B2B copywriting, proofreading.

  • Since graduating with a BSc in Applied Biology, I have accumulated over 20 years’ experience in publishing, communications and marketing, including in-house roles at The London School of Economics and Political Science (Marketing & Communications Manager); LSE Enterprise (Marketing & Communications Manager); King’s College London (Communications Officer); and the Institute of Psychiatry (editing systematic reviews prior to publication).

Since working freelance, I like to keep my skills up-to-date with professional development courses, including:

    * Level 4 Diploma in Copywriting, Distinction (Blackford Centre)

    * Level 6 Diploma in Mobile Marketing, Merit (Chartered Institute of Marketing)

    * Proofreading qualification from The Publishing Training Centre

  • I’m a flexible, reliable and collaborative worker. I want to do a good job for you and I’ll do so by listening and making sure you get what you want. I have a broad range of experience, from freelance to in-house, from private to public sector, from large London universities (see above) to small businesses. I bring all of this experience to your project.

  • I charge the industry average of £385.00 per day for my copywriting and marketing expertise. I charge slightly less for proofreading, depending on the level of editing needed. The overall cost of a project is individual, and will depend on many different factors, for example: level of research needed, estimated length of project, number of drafts. There will not be any hidden surprises - the cost of the project will be agreed before anyone signs on the dotted line.

  • Yes - I have worked closely with a trusted and experienced Graphic Designer at West9 Design on previous freelance projects. If you need a combination of copywriting, graphic design and branding I’d be happy to source a quote. Copywriting projects involving website creation, brochures, prospectuses, annual reports are often better done in conjunction with a professional graphic designer.

  • Yes - I have professional indemnity insurance. I am insured by Axa insurance company, through Policy Bee.

  • Start by getting in touch via my contact form. Just email a quick outline of what you’re after and I’ll let you know as soon as possible if this is something I can help you with.

The early discovery consultation can be as long or as short as you need it. I have a detailed brief for you to contribute to, so that everyone is clear what is needed before we progress. I'm happy to run through any ideas and take any suggestions before we proceed.

Once the brief is complete, I can send you a detailed quote and we can decide on a timeline. Once everything is agreed, and the 50% deposit has been received, I will start work on your project.

The quote will depend on the length of time I anticipate the project will take, based on my £385.00 day rate (unless specified otherwise). Other factors may include level of research needed for the project and other considerations, such as upload of content to a CMS for example.

All costs will be agreed upon before we proceed.

After the project has been completed, with the final sign-off, I will invoice you the remaining 50% of the charge, to be paid within 10 days.

  • Start by letting me know about your project - write a brief description in the Contact form and let’s get the ball rolling.
