Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions outlined below are for clients of Catherine Forward Marketing.
Summary
Work will commence upon acceptance of quote, payment of a non-refundable 50% deposit, and agreement of the statement of work and timeline by the client.
Payment of the deposit and/or agreement to start work confirms the client has accepted the terms and conditions.
Services
Copywriting and editing freelance services are provided by Catherine Forward of Catherine Forward Marketing. All sensitive business information will remain confidential.
Location
All copywriting and editing work will be carried out by Catherine Forward remotely with all meetings and correspondence completed online via email, Teams, Zoom or equivalent.
Process
After the early discovery consultation has been completed, and any necessary contributions to a brief, a detailed quote will be sent and a timeline proposed.
Once the project scope, costs and timeline are agreed by the client, and the non-refundable 50% deposit has been received, work will start on the project.
Payment of the deposit and/or agreement to start work confirms the client has accepted the terms and conditions.
After the project has been completed, with the final sign-off from the client, an invoice for the remaining 50% of the charge will be sent, to be paid within 10 days. For larger projects, staggered payments will be arranged, to be paid at project milestones.
Pricing
The quote will depend on the length of time the project is anticipated to take, based on a £385.00 day rate(£55.00/hour) for copywriting or a £245.00 day rate (£35.00/hour) for copy-editing/proofreading.
Any agreed additional hours due to a change in the brief would be charged and invoiced separately.
For copywriting projects: research time, copywriting, re-writing, re-structuring and editing current content, requested re-writes or changes, and final proofreading will be factored into the quote.
For editing projects: copy-editing and proofreading will be factored into the quote.
Payment terms
Bank details for the payments will be on the deposit and the final invoice document and should be made in British pounds via bank transfer. Payments should be made within 10 days of receiving the invoice.
International clients are expected to cover any additional currency conversion charges and any transaction fees for sending money abroad via BACS.
Final sign off and indemnity
Final sign off from the client represents approval of the work done. The client accepts full responsibility for checking the work done before final approval, thus indemnifying Catherine Forward against any claim, including that of a third party, for compensation or damages related to the original work.
Upon final sign off and payment of the remaining 50% fee, the client takes full responsibility for the work, with copyright automatically transferred to the client. Any changes or amendments thereafter are then the responsibility of the client.
Catherine Forward reserves the right to use extracts, or links to published work, for a portfolio.
Cancellation
If the client wishes to cancel the agreement at any point between the start of the project before completion, the client will be required to pay for any work completed up until the point of written cancellation.
Catherine Forward reserves the right to cancel a work project at short notice if there is evidence of a client breaching marketing rules and regulations.
